aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! my pod-mate’s are going crazy!!!
i just got back from Spike and Mike’s Sick and Twisted Animation Festival with Carolyn and some friends. it was my first time seeing it and i guess i was expecting something more along the lines of The Animation Show but i still had a good time. it’s good to step back from character animation and look at how amazing the medium of animation is as a whole and how moving crudely drawn lines can be. it’s definitely a terrifically creative medium where we can do anything we want (i know, nothing profound here…) it’s just that sometimes when i’m focusing incredibly hard on subtle acting or polishing an arc that no one aside from other animators will ever see, i lose that and it’s good to have it re-energized. so yay, i’m glad i was just entertained with friends for a few hours :)
oh, also, it was hysterical to see a twisted little animation done by none other than DNA back in 1997. i had no clue, it was so much fun to see those credits.
