    Thanks,
Great to know by who and when Hogan was raised. Any special reason why the last version is called Norman?

Saw a fat version of Norman!! as a cook on the creampuffs short for pixar 3 on the spline docs.

glad you guys enjoyed the article :)

i don’t know why the latest version is called norman. that would be a question well suited for morgan loomis or leif jeffers. i’ll see if i can dig anything up.

    straight from the horses mouth…

    leif said,
“I was making a list of possible names for the character when I happened across a Norman Rockwell painting. I figured what the heck, and added the name Norman to the list. When I later went through the list of possible names Norman stood out to me. The name alone was generic enough that it didn’t bring with it any preconceived notions of how he should act or look. Generic was the goal with the character, so it seemed like the best option. Oh, and as an added plus it could be short for ‘normal man’, so it all just worked out”

pj you rock. This has been a long time coming, for this deep voyage through the the trials and tribulations of this 3D legend. He will always have a special place in my heart.

    Hogan, I salute you.

Cool man, thanks for the info!

Is there any way to get the Norman Rig?

  8. pj leffelman - :

you could enroll at the academy of art university and get into the pixar classes. that’s the only way i know how.

Is there a way you might be able to take pjHogan, adapt it, and create a pjNorman using the same controls, I guess it would be a change in geo only, right? I think the Norman rig is great and I would love to use it. Thanks.

i would think it’s possible but right now i don’t have the time nor really the desire to do that.

plus, it’d still only be for the people currently enrolled at the academy. :-/
