The Quest

Part II: Return of the Gobble Monster

Prologue

Having defeated the Great Gobble Monster late last year, Sir nuche and his companions, BRAVE sir pants and sir Joe the Cubic, parted ways and returned to their homes as heroes among men.

sir Joe the Cubic is in search of employment, as he grows increasingly tired of Lord Sam of The Club and his harsh whip. He recently journeyed to The Bowling Brook, where he currently resides; always fighting the forces of evil Lord Sam.

BRAVE sir pants took up residence with two unsuspecting old maids, lady Kaleah the bard, and fair Laci of the lone star. The two remain with sir pants only out of pity, for his fleeting heart and violent mood swings make them quite distraught.

One day, whilst painting pretty pictures of rare homobos and antey ecks’s, BRAVE sir pants fell in love with the fair maiden Michelle; the two later found out that they had been betrothed at the age of 14 months as part of a business transaction betwixt their parents; wherein, young BRAVE sir pants was traded for his weight in Noble Lord Farley’s Fruit Snacks.

Shortly after his brief romance with the fair maiden Michelle, BRAVE sir pants quickly fell in love with a young gypsy girl from the far western shores. Julie the young and our BRAVE hero courted for a short time, though they were forced to part ways for the two did not see how a BRAVE and valiant man such as sir pants could find his way in the lifestyle of the gypsies of the far western shore.

Sir nuche moved to the land of jazz music and tried, as our other heroes have, to get on with life following their great battle with the Great Gobble Monster.

Chapter One
The Beast Still Draws Breath

Sir nuche was one day out on an excursion through the Vast Forests of Central Park when he heardst a noise that brought quivers to his spine.

‘What is that wretched sound,’ Sir nuche thought to himself. ‘It can’t be… It cannot be so…’ Sir nuche began to run. He followed the sound and it grew louder as he ran. ‘Why can’t they hear it,’ he thought as he noticed none of the people around him seeming to notice anything at all.

Then, in the calm of this late summer afternoon, Sir nuche realized that his worst nightmare had come true. All of the suffering he, sir pants, and sir Joe had endured was in vain. Their arch foe, the Great Gobble Monster of the Midwestern Flatlands was not slain as they had thought it to be. ‘How did it survive’ he thought, ‘It died by mine hands and those of mine companions. I watched with mine own eyes as BRAVE sir pants and sir Joe the Cubic did dance upon it’s wretched, lifeless carcass.’

Sir nuche now quickened his pace as the source of the sound grew nearer; however his path soon drew to an end at the shore of the Great Reservoir. Though he knew it to be impossible, Sir nuche was certain that the sound was coming from within the lake itself. But, how could a creature such as the Great Gobble Monster take refuge underneath the water and still draw breath? This immense, winged, flightless bird was not capable of such a thing.

As he began to walk back to his small dwelling, Sir nuche thought to himself… ‘How can this be true? I know this beast be slain, but that noise… that noise…’

The noise he had heard was indeed the breathing of the Great Monster. He and his companions BRAVE sir pants and sir Joe the Cubic had learned to hear it in order to track the great beast in their first attempt at smiting it. He had listened for this noise for far too long to confuse it with anything else. He was certain that the Great Gobble Monster was alive and somehow living right within his own village.

Sir nuche knew what must be done, and he knew he once again needed the help of his valiant companions BRAVE sir pants and sir Joe the Cubic…
